It might have had more validity if you compared the number of coffee shops (all of them, not just Starbucks) to the number of gun shops. The stats I found said there were only about 110,000 people with a Federal Firearms License, required to sell guns. Many of them do not have stores, and many of them do not sell guns at all (the license is required for ownership of some types of guns, so a lot of collectors have the license). Starbucks only has about 13,000 stores in the US, and there are about 20,000 coffee shops in total in this country. That's still a lot less than the number of Federal Firearms License holders, but without knowing how many are actually active dealers, you cannot really make a comparison. Here's my opinion, regarding guns. Our culture is the root of the problem, and banning guns will not change that. People will still commit violent crime here, but they'll either use illegal guns, or they'll use knives or other weapons. Its like the Abortion issue. People oppose it and want to ban it, but don't understand that the best way to eliminate it is to fix the economic and social problems that drive women to have abortions. Same with guns and violence.
