The vast majority of tries this night on the purple flower were not sharp as
it was too dark for either me or the autofocus to focus and I tried a lot of
both. I tried no flash and various flash fill ratios and the gamut of f
stops. This one seemed maybe sharp enough and was f 16! Diffraction limited
perhaps but at least it was in focus.
Even the f 8 were not usually soft.. Neither did the F11's. And the 5.6's
were not even close. I hope I didn't bang this plastic lens going through a
doorway and make its insides go out of whack. - it turned out the best Phil
flash was none at all. No ambient light made for no fuzziness on the flower
itself. Also the black background which resulted is my favorite for such
subject matter.
