Robert

Many thanks for replying, and firstly I have no identified the problem but
not the cause. To answer your specific question, the original conversion to
B&W would have been done in LR4, and I am now using LR5.

I have now spotted that LR5 has set the saturation slider on the affected
images to -100 and the colour balance to 12000. Why this has happened is
totally beyond me, and it has only happened to maybe 20 or 30 images out of
1300+ in that particular folder. Now I know the cause it is quite easy to
rectify, and I can only assume it is a bug which I will report. The
interesting thins is that if I double-click on the saturation slider to
reset it then it resets to -100. The colour balance is easy to rest to 'As
Shot' or any other setting.

Major panic now over, but still difficult to understand.

Thanks again!

Gerry
