A lifetime ago (digital world time) I shot with a stable of D200s as the difference between a D2x D2xs and D200 (aside from rugged body) was minimal. I am down to a couple back up D200s having passed them on to family and friends...that said, my 18 year old son just got picked up by AP with his D200 protest photos in Turkey (best Father's Day Gift out there my son's first biline), my dear friend Nancy has article after article of hers (Illustrated with another hand-me-down beat to death D200) published on-line and in print, my friend Paul just toured the world with one and my 80-year old father amazes and astounds with his... You do not have to spend a fortune...and with Nikon (and a few mods with a Dremel to AI) ANY cheap old lens can be used (really, a Spiratone FishEye and "GirlWatcher" 800mm lens are fine for all but Birdman Ted...and I can use them on my F F2 and FM series cameras... Of course with a bag full of D3s I find myself coveting a Fuji X And I still have a full darkroom and enough frozen film and paper to print for 30 years... And whomever was spouting off about Digital Death in 8 years, I fired up my Minolta RD-175 (it is in the Pro Photo Supply Portland Oregon Digital Museum on loan) and it still returned images as good (or bad) as it did when it was new...
