Henning,
The point I do not understand in this whole ramble is:

Why should anything be like a Leica for it to be kosher?

Use systems for what they are, and choose those that suit for the
photography that one does. That is it. Why complicate things further? What
is the point in beating ourselves for systems/features/film that are not
available any more, for whatever reason (and whatever price)?
