The main thing is that you see the DoF increase (as you would expect). As 
you stop down (or it is dark) the EVF amplifies to compensate (can be 
over-ridden) so even at f16 it looks the same brightness as at f1.4.

However,  I have not found it easy to focus if you do not get focus-peaking 
to work - too low detail/contrast.
