George,

You made me do a little searching.  According to one source, bumble bees 
have a fuzzy gold "butt", while carpenter bees have a shiny black butt. 
This one is definitely shiny and black.  I do have another shot that appears 
to show the second, smaller wing.  I guess I need to re-label the photo, at 
least.  I may add the side view image, as well.
