At about 3 feet, using the 24-85, the camera back focuses about 1 1/2-2 inches..... test done wide open inside, using a tripod ( of sorts... table top...) and low shutter speed. Still a go...... I might add that while I had not done too much thinking about it, an F3.5-4.5 lens is pretty dark through a VF..... even outside.... Could be a deal breaker??????
