Larry and I may be the only people here that appreciate minimalist designs,
but I don't mind it a bit. Well, I do mind the price...

Let's see now. If the camera was truly designed in 85 days that's 6 or
7 models and 12 parts a day. Just about one model and two parts per
hour allowing time for eating and coffee breaks. That boggles the
imagination even for an efficient design firm. More likely the camera
was designed during a single three martini lunch. Still it is a nice
minimalist design, rather like a Leica M with all the edges and fiddly
little parts smoothed off. I might even buy one of the price was
reasonable, say $2000.

Leica Camera is pleased to present The Leica M designed by Jony Ive and
Marc Newson.
>From a design standpoint, it features a laser machined aluminum body
and an anodized aluminum outer shell. A total of 561 models and nearly
1000 prototype parts were made during the 85 days it took to create
this unique, one of a kind camera.
