Best of luck, Peter. I'm 63, retired 15 months, and, through force of
circumstances, found myself nearly as busy as I used to be when working.
I've certainly learnt a lot of new skills - cooking, cleaning, caring,
etc. - in those 15 months, but my outside activities have been curtailed.
Get plenty of exercise, and discipline yourself. Make the most of your new
life, but get up before 9 and get to bed before 12 so daylight is maxed. At
one stage, I found myself going to bed at 2am!!

Limit your time on the computer as it, with its websites, photoshop, and yes
emails (like this), is a ridiculous time suck. As Ted put it, it's all about
the content of the image, so if you take twenty photos of a scene, cut it to
one. If the one needs PS, do what ever it needs in ten minutes, and move on.
One of my retired friends (aged 72) is doing a third level professional
photographers course five days a week, and, even though he is whacked by the
whole thing, he finds it invigorating. He's got a demanding new schedule,
doing new things, thinking new ways, pushing his creativity, and he's
meeting new people. So do something new, even Tai Chi....

Best of luck.

Douglas
