We're having a (real) winter like the ones I remember from my younger days.  
Lots of snow alternating with bitter cold.  Now at 4:30 PM, it's minus 11F 
(-23C), the high for the day, and tonight it might drop to -18F with wind 
chill of -30 to -50F.
