I'm not financial wizard but I do have a couple of data points:

used 280mm f/4 APO in 2004: $1600 in 2004 dollars (private seller)
used 280mm f/4 APO in 2013: $4500 (private) to $8500 (ebay) in 2013 dollars

used DMR in 2006: $3000
used DMR with broken R8 in 2009: $3000
used DMR in 2014: about $2500
