[Leica] 50mm Summicron v5 on M9?

The 50mm Summicrons behave on the M9 largely consistent with their
behaviour on other cameras - they are great lenses with a few specific
shortcomings.  The lens has plenty of resolution for the sensor.  The main
problem with all the six element 50mm Summicron-Ms is flare from light just
outside the frame.  It occurs irregularly and can be hard to predict,
because it occurs when there is a light source in a very narrow angular
range of the field of view.  For a lot of people, it is never a problem
because they don't favour that sort of light, but I got caught by it all
the time, probably because of what sort of scene I like to shoot.  There

fellow built a baffle to prevent the internal reflection that probably
causes the flare.  These lenses are amazingly flare resistant with light
sources _in_ the frame.  On any digital Leica M flare is somewhat
exaggerated in comparison to film because the sensor is so much more
reflective than film emulsions.
