[Author Prev] [Author Next] [Thread Prev] [Thread Next] [Author Index] [Topic Index] [Home] [Search]With the Noctilux f/1 and 75 Summilux I also do better on the M240 with the rangefinder than the EVF; probably because the rangefinder is set up correctly (and hasn't drifted as yet) and the EVF allows too large a focussing range over which it looks OK to me. Focus peaking also seems to indicate too great a depth of field, while at f/1 the contrast of the Noctilux is low enough that often nothing triggers the focus peaking. On top of that the EVF itself and the whole shooting experience with it is rather sluggish; overall, that may be the biggest reason I stick with the rangefinder. But at least now we have a choice, and if the camera gets whacked, we can still focus until the rangefinder gets recalibrated.
