There are Bedouin families living the in the caves of Petra. They make their living by selling soft drinks, water, and souvenirs to the tourists. This young girl was selling water, but she willingly posed for a photo or two: http://www.pbase.com/image/154708186 The light was so harsh, I was surprised and pleased that it came out as well as it did.
