Regarding a printer, I have had excellent results with the Epson 3880. The best paper so far for b&w has been the Ilford Gold Silk Mono using Ilford's canned b&w profile (better than Epson Advanced B&W IMHO and also allows soft proofing). The Epson will print 17" wide, but cut sheets seem to not be available. So, I'll need to order a 17" roll and cutting to 17x25 for a 16x24 image size. 16x20 was as large as I printed in the darkroom so it seems a good match. The 3880 does not have a paper cutter so it's DIY. The Epson 4900 does have roll capability and also prints 17" wide. Its ink tanks are larger than the 3880 if you print quite a lot.
