Now that it's out it seems to me a bit of a mystery. Absolutely I want a
small
package Leica, with all that implies in terms of quality, that I can stick
in my
vest pocket. But a Leica-made electronic Bessa-T without.... It seems a
fascinating piece of design though.

I can't help wondering why with Leica's stretched resources they need to
come up
with a new lens system. It seems un-necessary. Put a proper M-mount on it and
you can use existing lenses with it and also Third Party ones such as
Voigtlander and others. OK I know about loss of revenues, but compare that
with
the investment necessary.

Lack of a rangefinder seems a tragedy. OK not all Leica's have had one, but
(specialist ones apart) there have been viewfinders on every Leica for the
mass
market since forever. After all Leica is synonymous with Rangefinder. Isn't
it?
...and then to charge hundreds of dollars/pounds/Euros etc for one is
pushing it.

I haven't bothered to look at the body prices, because I don't want yet
another
batch of lenses.

I would love to understand the real reasons for Leica going to Audi for the
design. They make good cars, but aren't exactly renowned for their cameras. I
suppose it was just a prestige thing to bump up the price.

So near Leica to what I want Leica, but as usual not quite right.
