The gallery showing of Ted's photos was exceptional, and his presentation at the ICP was up to his great teaching skills. It was well worth the effort to be there at the opening, and for those who could not make it, you have a couple of months to get there before it is over. WOW!!!!!!! :-) While the presentation at ICP, and certainly from what I heard the Leica Gallery exhibit were exceptional, in my view these were much more than a photography exhibit: they were celebrations of a life lived exceptionally well. As my father once said, "The trick in life is to marry your second wife first." Ted managed this, and much more, with an exceptional marriage that lasted longer than many lives. That, and the fact that they raised terrific children, all while Ted was able to pursue his passion, and keep everyone fed while doing so. If that isn't a life well-lived, I don't know what is. Still, the greatest charge I got from Ted's presentation boiled down to one thing: to hell with the naysayers, bureaucrats, tin hats, a**hats, and all others who impede the picture. Just take the picture; you'll likely live to tell the tale. The images will be there for posterity long after the jerks have gone to their greater purgatory. It was an honor to see Ted describing an exceptional career. However, I think that his best image will be the one he captures tomorrow or the day after. A thousand thank yous, too, for all the great instruction at the Park Square Cape Cod meetings over the years. When fall rolls around it still doesn't seem right that we are not making plans to go to Hyannis or Rockport.
