Nathan mon ami,
You never ever cease to amaze me with what we'll call your, Walk about
event? Documentary? Story telling with photos.? No matter what, where, nor
time of day.

You create a "photo story? Photo Essay." Much along the lines of
documentaries I was assigned to shoot about life across Canada or wherever
on the planet. Back in the wonderful years of the '60's. And commercials of
similar nature.

Your short captions add to the value of the photos immensely making the over
all appearance far more interesting. Words? Always short and sweet and to
the point.

Some of you folks might appreciate some similarities between Nathans' walk
about's and my month long walk about assignments doing the same thing as he?

Only shooting wheat harvesting across the prairies, ocean salmon fishing, or
in the high Arctic on an ice breaker for a month. Or ventures in other parts
of the world. These weren't visiting a location for a few days. But a month
or various lengths of times depending on the importance of the subject. And
I got paid! :-) :-) It was my job! :-) tough! ;-) ;-)

This will give you a bit of an idea why in my personal image collection in
the National Archives of Canada alone are over 280,000 images. With a
separate collection of documentary essays and photo-stories of another
100,000 in The National Gallery of Canada.

But dang the fun, excitement, learning, the wonderful people, wild and crazy
life-style just never ended! Is there any wonder most of the time I do wild
and crazy things in and with my life? Although I must confess I am beginning
to think I might be getting a "tad old? CRAP!"

MAN YOU JUST GOTTA LOVE IT!!!! It was a time of photography like no other.
And we will never ever see again.
cheers,
ted
