Funny you should mention that: I thought VERY seriously about buying a
four-digit Leica A for just that reason (one appeared at a reasonable
price on rangefinderforum.com)   However, I thought long and hard about
setting a front-tab camera, using a FODIS to get the correct distance, and
then setting the lens, before I decided to just drop the idea.  Since I
like to shoot close-up at this event, I'd really need to depend on the
rangefinder.

Last year I used a 1934 Super Ikonta A, and got terrific results.  The
main reason I selected that vintage camera was the built-in coupled
rangefinder.

I already had the FILCA cassettes ready and loaded to go....

Great shots Jim. Looks like everyone went to a great deal of effort. You
create a great sense of atmosphere.

But wouldn't a Leica A have been more appropriate ;-)  Looks like everyone
had a great time - including you!
