"REAL PHOTOGRAPHERS SHOOT BLACK and WHITE! THEY EAT SUSHI! AND DRINK SINGLE MALT SCOTCH!" A guidance for all photographers! "CERTANLY THOSE WHO SHOOT B&W!" :-) :-) :-) :-) Cheers, Dr. ted :-) -----Original Message----- From: LUG [mailto:lug-bounces+tedgrant=shaw.ca at leica-users.org] On Behalf Of Jay Burleson Sent: September-10-14 8:30 PM To: Leica Users Group Subject: Re: [Leica] IMGs: For love of the black and white photography of Edward Weston, Minor White and W. Eugene Smith George, the reasons you articulate in your last paragraph are exactly why I jump on the Monochrom as my first "real" digital camera (only had a $100.00 p & s prior). Knowing that the output is b & w only, just like in the film days, gets one much more in tune with the quality of light and shape that makes a good b & w image. Although when I just take the MM out, I am sometimes accused of the "if all you have is a hammer, everything looks like a nail" syndrome, I feel that it's better to catch an image in b & w that maybe should have been in color than not catch it at all. Welcome back to the b & w world; any questions you have about the MM feel free to ask!
