You caught a moment in time with those images, taken right after the fall of the Caucescu regime, when Romania was virtually a third-world country. In contrast to Czechoslovakia, Poland or East Germany, the fall of Communism in Romania was quite violent. I think if you went back today you would be hard pressed to find images like these, at least in Bucharest. And this week Romanians elected a president from an ethnic minority. Things have moved forward since you took these pictures, for sure.
