Nathan Wajsman SHOWED AND OFFERED: NIAGRA FALLS --- CANADA SIDE. :-):
Subject: [Leica] Nathan's PAD 10/8/2014: Oh, Canada!

Hi Nathan,
OK here's a helicopter flight I would do again! Although I think these days
I might have second thoughts.:-)

Your most excellent photo of the Canadian Niagara Falls illustrates most
effectively the "Horse shoe shape." Just try to imagine what it's like in a
two man helicopter, right door off to make it easier for me to shoot down
into the Falls a few hundred feet below me?:-) ? :-)

I have a photo from the helicopter in a big old scrap book from back in the
'60's.If I can find and copy it? I'll post it later today. It was published
in The Star Weekly rotogravure section of the Toronto Star newspaper
sometime early '60's...

A beauty looking right down into the Falls themselves. Let's put it this
way, we could feel the mist coming into the helicopter because the door was
off, kind of cool to put it mildly! :-)

It would be the last scene you'd see, if we auto-rotated into the Falls.
YIKES! But one isn't thinking of those kinds of things while shooting. It's
always "GET THE PHOTOS AS YER NOT DOING THIS AGAIN!" Besides it helps having
a pilot with a dare and do attitude. :-) Oh and maybe a slight touch of
"CRAZY!" :-)

A photo later. :-)
cheers,
ted

NATHAN OFFERED:
We spent yesterday on the Canadian side of the border, first taking in the
awesomeness that is Niagara Falls (despite local attempts to turn it into a
horrible Disneyland):
