They used the space for the athletic field.

Someday, I'm going to scan a lot of pix from inside the old school. After it 
was closed, the principal gave me free rein to shoot pictures throughout the 
building, even let me pop up through a hatch on the roof, and go inside the 
dome. I took B&W, color slides, and color stereo shots. The school looked in 
great shape for its age, so that made demolition even harder to swallow.
