I agree the live view on the 240 is not good for me for casual images (grand
kids, walking around). Good enough for still images, but not really needed.
Great for R, movies (I guess).

I find the rangefinder to continue to be accurate on my noctilux, 50/1.4,
and 70/2. The 240 range finder focusing is much more solid and reliable than
the M9. It is pretty amazing to still be in perfect alignment after a year
1/2 of my abuse.

Wide open close distance on any of my M lenses hand held is a crap shoot (or
worse). Always was. Just my caffeine shakes make the odds worse. I tend to
move my head to focus.

I don't think even the best EVF/e-shutter system would improve anything. On
the 240 at ISO 2000 and f/1, 1.4, or 2 my shutter speed in near dark is high
enough. And the images are very special IMO.

But I am fortunate in having working income. And I hope it lasts 20 years.
Because I won't be able to ever afford another one. I do see the strong
appeal of a less expensive, extremely capable system. The 240 however is a
very different animal than the 9 and keeps my mind in Leica mode...
FWIW
