Herb,

For clarity, the Leica thread mount and the M mount lenses use the same cam
system for focusing the rangefinder.

The difference in the M mount is simply a permanent adapter that turns the
lens into a bayonet mount.

Leica and others make readily available screw-on adapters to the thread
mount that allow the various sets of framelines to properly show in the
rangefinder of an M camera.
