Subject: [Leica] LTM adapter

OK, new to this.
Do all LTM adapters, when mounted on an M body, put the lens at a 
(roughly) 2:00 position as you look at it?
Or is it a function of my cheap one found in a box o' stuff?

And is the lens release button supposed to actually lock the adapter?
