They eliminate the need for a license to travel, so long as you fit into one of 12 categories. I have three Blurb books published so it looks like the journalism exception applies :): "iii. A freelance journalist with a record of previous journalistic experience" The regulations are at http://www.treasury.gov/resource-center/sanctions/Programs/Documents/31cfr515_new.pdf and are scheduled to be published in the Federal Register tomorrow.
