Yes, I understood the point you were making, and you are absolutely right. I 
think if the Epson RD-1 had shown Leica that there was a way round the 
shortcomings of digital for rangefinder type lenses the M8 would never have 
existed.
And mine works fine too (and I have a RD-1 somewhere).
