Hi Gene,
The 1.4 TC version I have is version III. It is definitely better than the 
1.7 V II and MUCH better than the 2.0 V II. In fact for the future I think I 
will only use the 1.4 and crop if necessary to get a closer picture.

Howard,

The HMS Bounty shots are very nice, the fog really give them a nice look.  
the 80-400 seems to work very well, as does the 1.4x TC.  Did you get the 
Version II or the III TC?
