Years ago, my wife gave me a great and beautiful fishing rod, as a birthday
gift, because she knew I liked to go to the port and
observe the fishermen ritual.
I went five times with my new rod... but nothing. The only thing I caught
were an hermit crab.
Some kind fishermen said it was very good to attract gilt-head (there were a
lot, in these times), but the clever gilt-head had a
great breakfast and I didn't become aware :)

Adult mullet are hard to catch on a rod and line as their mouths are soft.
We used to try with bread on a hook, hoping they'd swallow the lot. Never
caught one :-)
