Subject: [Leica] Easier Loading Leica Camera Spools

Ever try to find the insertion point for a Leica spool (Barnack or M
camera) and it's neigh impossible in dim light (especially for those with
post-40 eyes)? Here's my simple solution, though not for purists: Get a
dollar store bottle of nail polish. Take the black spool, and insert a
thick white piece of paper, such as a business card, as though you were
loading film. Then paint over the top of the spool lip with the nail
polish. Allow to dry, remove the paper and voila--instant contrast for
low-light loading. It's not for purists, but it can make loading a lot
faster.
