Great shot, Bob.  I never thought much about benches until you started your 
series, but the writer Geoff Dyer devotes several pages to photographers and 
benches in his book "The Ongoing Moment," which is kind of a meditation on 
photographic history.  Specifically he discusses bench photos by Brassai and 
Kertesz and later work by Arbus and Winogrand.

Interesting reading if you enjoy that sort of thing.
