[Leica] M240 as Scanner

Actually, scanner tech has not been improved much since a decade ago. The
key is that they use single line CCD so there is nothing much they can
improve sensor wise per se. The optic, light source and how flat they can
hold the negs are the important factor.

In any case, yes, the Nikon is still one of the best.

Tina, there is a group of people who are finding the best way to get the
most out of dSLR scanning workflow. You should be able to find them on the
web.

Of course if you have $40K-$50K, you can get the medium format data back
based "film scanner"....
