Subject: [Leica] IMG: End of an Era-Leica Sign

This week I became aware that the sign at the rear entrance to Camera
Center in Shorewood, made in the form of a Leica IIIf by Art Siemann
Advertising & Sign Company, was gone. The owner of the store told me he
sold it to a collector in Green Bay, after the man gave him a generous
offer. Evidently, there were two such signs at the shop's original
location a block away, before it had to move for the construction of an
office building around 1972. This is the store where I bought my first M3,
my IIIf, a Bessa II, Super-Speedex, Speed Graphic, and 4x5 RB Graflex.

Here are three images of the sign over the years 1978 - 2014.

I miss it.
