Note that even the cheaper Surface runs Win 10 and is compatible with Office and other Win programs. I find the IPAds to be unusable for anything more demanding than reading magazines and books on line. The lack of a hierarchal files system - perhaps a deliberate choice by Apple to prevent cannibalizing laptop sales - renders the iPad useless for serious work.
