Do you say anything to the owners that you will be taking photos? Or do you "play tourist and just quietly click-away? Is it OK if I shoot a few snaps illustrating your steel mill?" 100% of the time it would be an affirmative response as the owners always wanted their place to look"cool " so to speak! Society today being far more untrusting would probably be looking for a request in writing? We did some written permission things if it were shooting say. "The MAGIC of the GMC AUTOMOBILE ASSEMBLEY LINE in OAKVILLE!" Then I'd spend a few days, night and day start to finish cars from beginning right to the point of being loaded on car carrying freighters.
