Yes, and we have the spider lily and tulip magnolia originally Asian, I 
believe. 

There are four irises John Audubon described as native to Louisiana.  
Carolyn Dormon (whose papers we hold) was an energetic cheerleader for the 
iris.  It is our state wildflower.
