I like the shots of the stair well best

Not the set of staircases, but you did a good job including people in the
frame

Amities from nowhere in particular tonight ;-)

> I had an appointment at the Danish consulate in Madrid today. I went by
> high-speed train, and I bought the tickets so as to have some time to walk
> around Madrid a bit. Even though it was raining on and off, it was very
> enjoyable. I first walk through the Retiro park from the Atocha station
> (where trains from Alicante arrive) to Plaza Col?n, where the consulate is
> located. The park was wet but pretty, and the rain made for some
> photogenic scenes.
>
> After my business at the consulate was done (all of 10 minutes), I walked
> back towards Atocha along the Paseo Recoletos and Paseo del Prado,
> thinking that I would drop in at the Prado to say hi to Hieronymus Bosch.
> But there was a long queue to get in, so instead I ended up at the
> Fundaci?n Caixa a bit further down, where to my delight there was a nice
> exhibition of paintings and sculptures by Joan Mir?. And the building
> itself, which I have passed many time but never visited, turned out to be
> a work of art in itself.
>
> Thus fed spiritually, I went to a bar near the station recommended to me
> by a colleague who used to live in Madrid, and I was not disappointed?I
> loved both the ambiance and the food. The local specialty, a sandwich with
> calamari, turned out perfect, and it was cheap too.
>
> Then I got to Atocha, took some more pictures there, and got on the train
> back to Alicante, from where I am posting this small gallery of 15 images:

>
> This is quick editing, but it gave me something to do during the 2-hour
> train journey, and it allows me to share my day with you in almost real
> time.
>
> Equipment-wise, I travelled ultra light, taking only the Ricoh GRII.
> Still, I get more than 100 decent images, even after culling the losers.
