We are all victims of our political system here. Not all of us are ardent 
supporters of unfettered gun ownership. Unfortunately, the "gun nuts" have a 
very effective lobbying organization and fund raising arm and can buy off or 
threaten politicians to do their bidding.

Many of us believe there is no rational reason for a private citizen to own 
a cheap knock off AR15. This is a gun designed for one purpose, to kill 
things, and it is often used for that purpose. It is plainly obvious that we 
are no safer as a result of widespread gun ownership and it's time to look 
at this again.

In American politics the old saying about squeeking wheels is true, and the 
NRA folks are the squeeking wheel.
