Yesterday morning I flew from Brussels to Berlin, checked in to my hotel,
and spent several hours walking around the city. Mostly, I stayed in the
former East Berlin, by far the more interesting part.

An image from outside my hotel, the Marienkirche and the TV tower on
Alexanderplatz:

The tower was built in the 1960s and was the pride and joy of the then DDR.
Today it is one of united Berlin?s main tourist attractions.

Street art, in a space called Urban Spree, near the Warschauer Strasse metro
station:

I had a beer in this bar in Urban Spree:

After looking at this mural at the bar, I asked the owner if he was
Norwegian (in German). He was indeed. Althought I also heard him speaking
Spanish to some customers. That is typical Berlin these days.

Warschauer Strasse. Berlin is increasingly becoming a bicycle city like
Amsterdam or Copenhagen:

Cheers,
