Subject: [Leica] My high school photography teacher

Last Friday and Saturday, the high school I graduated from in 1994, Elmhurst
High school in Fort Wayne, was opened for alumni to tour it one last time
before it is demolished. The school has sat empty since it closed in 2010.

Don Goss, who was Elmhurst's art teacher for 56 years, and an Elmhurst grad
himself, sat in the gym all day, both days, to talk to his students. I made
this portrait of him Friday afternoon. He was my photography teacher, and
because of his encouragement, I went to art school after high school. I am
one of many, many of Mr. Goss's students who became fulltime professional
artists.
