Subject: [Leica] IMG: Trying the Close-Up Lens

In? my exchanges with Moose, I have learned of his use of Achromat (two
element) close-up lenses with long lenses.? I secured one of these, and
first tried, mostly unsuccessfully, to use the combination hand-held.?
Then, after trying it on a tripod, I mounted the lens on a 55mm f/1.8
Takumar to reduce weight and set it up outdoors, inviting the insects to
come to me.? With a lens to subject distance of 7 to 16 inches and
focusing on the rear screen using an old black cloth from the 1940s, I
finally got a few decent shots.? Here is an example:

Next, I might try my? monopod.? Who knows what might result.

Thanks, Moose.
