Maybe that is the key,,,,, Leica designed zoom lesnes stay high in price, 
primes and designed by others zooms  drop like a rock.
Stll amazed that a camera system that was discontinued over 10 years ago, 
was a bit esoteric to begin with, and has/had no real digital capability has 
had such high prices all these years......
If only the SL had a R adapter that would operate the iris of the R 
lenses......
