I remember being in a bookshop in France and asking for books by HCB and they had nothing. I then asked for books by Doisneau and they had books, posters, calendars etc. Later in conversation it was explained that Doisneau captured the true spirit of France. I was therefore very honoured when the press compared my work to Doisneau following the opening of my first French exhibition.
