Subject: [Leica] IMG: Restoration of "Mister Douglas" Continues

Don, I don't belong to the group doing this, so I don't ask too many 
questions.? When they were here last Fall, they told me they had located 
two zero-time engines and had purchased one, with donations, and were 
raising funds for the second one.? Apparently that came to pass.

I have heard that the US supply has just about been exhausted, and the 
engines are being salvaged from crash sites overseas.? I haven't tried 
to substantiate that.

"Zero-Time" is FAA nomenclature.? It means that the engine consists of 
parts that meet original specifications, showing no wear or 
deterioration, and is supplied with a zero-time log book. For these, it 
can be very expensive.
