The curd is an easily movable focusing point and the other is instant magnification when you change focus. Being able to see at working aperture what is in sharp focus you avoid the slight softening you see one or two stops down off center with the lens showing some focus shift. There is also a rumor of a much higher pixel count camera coming which would very much interest me; that or a Q3 with a 35mm lens.
