I refuse to spend good money on bags when I could just as well buy film or a trip. If I needed an expensive bag for all my stuff it would mean that I have too much stuff. I keep 2, maybe 3 lenses in a home-made fanny pack. The pack is what I consider a "work in progress". As more materials are found or donated I'll add to it or modify it in some way. It started with seat belt webbing from a junk car, some cordura nylon (camo color) left over from another project and the remains of an ensolite sleeping pad that got too close to the campfire one night. I bought the fastex buckle and a zipper, total cost around $8. Dust storms, rain, getting dropped, none of that matters 'cuz the cordura is waterproof, the ensolite is great padding and instead of screaming "EXPENSIVE" it suggests "this guy is really weird, keep clear".
