1. Not the only, but the easiest to get. Use only Leica, B+W, or Heliopan
filters.

2. No. E55 is the same as 55mm in Tiffen or Hoya. But use Leica, B+W, or
Heliopan to avoid degrading your image any more than absolutely necessary.

3. There are stepdown rings that allow using larger filters on smaller
lenses. B+W makes a ton of them as does Heliopan. Make sure you buy brass
stepdown rings rather than aluminum. Aluminum have a habit of sticking and
the adapter is then basically permanently mated to your filter. This is the
voice of experience speaking. B+W & Heliopan are brass.
