I have some shots that have heavy detail in the shadow that gets turned to noise when printed (shows up fine on the scan). I know you got a good answer from Doug on using curves and levels, and interpreting histograms...all critical. Thought I would pass on one very analog comment...PAPER... I was pulling my hair out trying to get a decent print from one of my shots...couldn't be done. I was using pretty standard Hahnamule Photo Rag paper....Just to try a test I switched to a much smoother Cone PhotoMatte paper and while still not quite as good as I want, it went about 80% of the way there....much more detail, noise is much more subtle. If you are having trouble with a specific image, change paper type and you will often get a VERY different print. - --- Scott Squire <scott_squire@hotmail.com> wrote: > Howdy All, > It's become apparent that I am not a Master > Scansman, and I would like to do > better.
